The best

Elementary Schools in California

Good Quality , Good Job ! Students are our future !

At Woodcrest, we strive to provide our students with a strong traditional curriculum that is both challenging and creative. It is our goal to prepare our students to be independent, problem-solving learners and successful citizens in the 21st century.
Woodcrest students will be prepared as:
  • Avid Learners - who love to learn.
  • Effective Communicators - who articulate their ideas through spoken and written communication.
  • Responsible Citizens - who show respect for others, have the ability to resolve conflicts in an appropriate manner, and contribute to those less fortunate.
  • Proficient Users of Computer Technology - who possess keyboarding, word processing, and Internet skills as tools for learning.
  • Appreciators of the Fine Arts - who are active participants in the visual and performing arts.
  • Successful Middle School Candidates - who have a solid foundation of basic, academic knowledge and study skills.

Academics
Year after year, Woodcrest students score among the top 13% in the nation in standardized tests. We attribute that to our wonderful teachers and high educational standards. Through your years at Woodcrest, you will see your child developing foundational skills in literacy and math, developing social awareness and responsibility, and experiencing the joys of discovery. Here’s a closer look at our academic course load.
KINDERGARTEN
At Woodcrest, we give careful attention to providing a smooth transition from preschool to kindergarten. Our primary goal is to help our students develop the skills for successful learning; we do it in a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which each child develops cognitive, social, and fine-motor skills. Woodcrest’s kindergarten program recognizes the developmental differences in children and provides the structure necessary for individualized attention.

Our highly regarded gifted program is recognized for providing high achieving students with a curriculum of intellectual and creative challenges. As top scorers in national tests, our students' achievements attest to the success of this program.
The ability to work independently and achieve academically are requirements for admission to this fast-paced program; students in 2nd-5th grades are eligible. Our Principal and Program Coordinator evaluate students’ standardized test scores, classroom performance, and teacher recommendations for placement into the program. Our experienced team of teachers gives instruction within self-contained classrooms, but enrollment is limited.
